Dad, 27, dies from cancer ‘after doctors failed to refer him to specialists’

A DAD died at 27 after his cancer went untreated for a year when doctors failed to refer him to specialists.

Daniel Hemmings first went to hospital in 2010 after finding a lump in his lower back.

He had an MRI scan but no follow-up appointment was made to review the results.

The next year he went back to his GP, and he was sent for an op to remove what he was told was a benign tumour.
